Wichita Foundation has been focused on capacity development for our organization from the first day we sat down with Director of Engagement, James Woods at their offices on August 26, 2024. Mr. Woods immediately connected us to NonprofitGo where we are able to access training, referrals and service. On November 13, 2024, we approached Wichita Foundation with a specific ask for capacity building and on January 22, 2025, we received a funding notification for $1,200, coming from a donor that the Foundation resourced on our behalf. This funding will allow us to have one year membership to NonprofitGo which will include grant writing service, and to Association of Fundraising Professionals. We can't wait to find out who the generous donor is. We are excited to build a community of donors. Together, in partnership, we are making a difference in our community, promoting educational excellence and a hopeful community.
We are working on capacity building to accomplish WAU mission goals effectively and we are very appreciative of this donation as it will act as a catalyst to help us grow as an organization, to expand impact and furthering our purpose, overall. The areas of capacity building that this funding will help accomplish include knowledge base/training, networking/memberships, and service.
The Wichita Foundation's mission is to invest in people's ideas to spark change. Founded in 1986, the Foundation is building community with nearly 300 charitable funds and agency endowments. For more information, visit Wichita.org or call (316) 264-4880.
