A Big Day for Newcomer Students at Washington Accelerated Learning Elementary School

April 22, 2026, afternoon was a big day for newcomer students at Washington. The students presented the projects they had worked on about their journey from their originating countries to Wichita, Kansas in the US and to Washington. WAU President was there and toured a couple of stations including Uganda, Egypt, Malawi, Mexico and Venezuela.
The students used trifolds to present their information, and the presentations provided important details about the students' lives abroad such as the food they ate, country flags, the things they miss about their originating countries, how they dressed etc. Here are the presentations.
